Chapa Verde Ski Center is located 5,400 feet above sea level, on lands owned by CODELCO (Chilean copper mines) near El Teniente, and the historic mining camp “Sewell”. It is managed by the Chapa Verde Ski Club.

The center offers four lifts to 22 ski runs, covering about 19 miles, for 2965 acres of skiable area, on a 2,000 feet vertical. There are skiing and snowboarding trails suitable to all skill levels, and excellent off-piste terrain with gorgeous views and a quiet setting.

The area is well known by locals and tourists with a preference for less crowded, more serene natural ski areas without the amenities offered by the larger ski resorts in the Santiago area. The center has a well stocked ski shop, and ski rental. A great ski and snowboard school, and two restaurants on the premise offering snacks and meals.

Chapa Verde is located 36 miles east of Rancagua, a major town 50 miles south of Santiago. Access to the center is available by bus and shuttle service running directly from Rancagua, or by car. Chapa Verde’s season runs from June to October. Another attraction to the area is Sewell, which also hosts the copper museum.

Lodging
There is no lodging on Chapa Verde itself. Cabin rental and hotel space is available in or near Rancagua, or you can lodge in Santiago.
