Most of Chile is serviced by Empresa de los Ferrocarriles del Estado (EFE), the state railroad company. The trains are clean, modern, have onboard dining, and even vehicle transport service. The service runs on a schedule, with guaranteed on-time service for some of the routes.

Rail service is a great method for reaching some of the resorts to the south of Santiago. The journey offers tremendous views of some of Chile’s best-known natural attractions. Most ski resorts offer shuttle service at rail stations as they do at area airports.

Tickets can be booked online by credit card, in person, or by phone. A schedule is also avialable online. Note: The main Santiago station is called “Estacion Alameda” and may be listed as just “Alameda” on the schedules. For a complete list of ticket offices, use this link:

Volcán Osorno

Located on the slopes of the Osorno volcano, Ski y Montaña Volcán Osorno offers 1,500 acres of skiable surface, four lifts, a ski shop and restaurant. The center is mostly geared for natural alpine off-piste skiing and snowboarding.

The volcano is one of the central attractions in the Lakes region. The area has great tourism infrastructure, with good accommodations and year-round entertainment, as well as many other snow related activities.

Antillanca

Located on the slopes of the Casablanca volcano inside the Puyehue National Park, Antillanca is a year round tourism resort with abundant natural beauty. The ski center offers 1,000 acres of ski surface, half of the 14 pistes are for beginners to casual skiers, with the other half dedicated to more advanced athletes. Antillanca is known for excellent off-piste skiing with attractive terrain and mountain scenery, also great for snowboarding.

The ski season opens in June and ends in October. The park also offers a great variety of ecological attractions you should not miss.

Getting There
By plane: Fly into Osorno, bus service is available.
By car from Osorno: Take Ruta Internactional 215 East for 43.5 miles (70 km). Take the Parque Nacional Puyehue detour for 22 km until you see Centro de Ski Antillanca
