Ski Pucón Chile is located within the Villarrica National Park on the slopes of the Villarrica volcano. Only 20 minutes from the town of Pucon, this ski area offers some unrivaled scenery and adventure. Pucón is one of the premier vacation destinations in Chile, and there is a great variety of activities in the area for almost any age and taste.

Pucon

Ski Pucón has 20 well groomed runs, stretching over 20 miles, and a vertical of over 3,000 feet! The runs are almost evenly split in difficulty, with about half for beginners to intermediate, and the other half from advanced to expert.

The resort is a favorite for snowboarders, as there are plenty of different natural terrain formed by a mixture of uneven volcanic landscape, natural warm springs and windswept snow. The park also has man-made goodies, like a half pipe.

Pucón’s location also provides a longer season than resorts near Santiago. The season is able to go until November, while most other resorts close by mid October.

Schools
Ski Pucón has schools for both skiing and snowboarding, led by professional instructors.

Pucón-Villarrica
Pucón has a great resort feel to it, with cafes, discos, pubs, a casino, and a great amount of tourism infrastructure in the area, the town sits on the shores of the Villarrica lake, in the shadow of one of Chile’s most pristine volcanoes. Sadly, the casino and the Hotel Del Lago, a five star hotel, were completely lost in a fire last year. Reconstruction is underway, and at last report, the casino is up and running in a new building as of 1/1/2008.

Lodging
The area has a great assortment of accommodations, from hostels to luxurious resort hotels and everything in-between, or cabins, condos and campsites.

Shops and Rentals
As a popular resort area, there are very good ski and rental shops within the town. Snowmobile and climbing equipment is also available for rent.
